Students will create a full detailed wood carving throughout the week. All students start with a tupalo wood cut-out. Josh will do a series of demonstrations that will teach students every aspect of carving and painting a realistic bird. Josh will teach his techniques on achieving soft bird like feathers that have made him an award winning sculptor. Josh instructs with power tools. Students are welcome to use knives or other tools if that is what they are comfortable with. The class generally runs from 8am- 5pm daily. There will be approximately three days of carving and one day of painting.
A study cast will also be provided to use throughout the class and can be purchased at the end if desired.
